About the scent
Opens with lime zest and pink pepper, then a slightly herbal rose settles onto suede (a soft leather note with a velvety, powdery texture). It smells like the inside of a handbag, not a biker jacket. For spring and autumn, the office and an evening walk through town. It sits quietly, close to the skin.
Notes
Notes are what you smell in the scent. The top ones come first, the heart follows, the base stays with you the longest. The number next to a note is how many fragrances in the catalogue have it.
Top notes. The first 15–30 minutes after you put it on: what you smell straight away.
- . Berries of the juniper shrub, the main flavour of gin. Fresh and resinous, with pine needles and a peppery bite.
- . A small green citrus. Sharp and zesty, greener and more tart than lemon.
- Bergamot· 24. An Italian citrus. Lemon peel and Earl Grey tea: bright and a little bitter.
- Pink pepper· 7. Dried berries of the Peruvian pepper tree, not a true pepper. A light spice: fresh, a little fruity and resinous, with a gentle tingle.
Heart notes. Opens up after about half an hour and stays for a few hours: the character of the scent.
- Rose· 14. One of the main flowers of perfumery. It can smell of fresh petals with dew or of thick rose jam.
- Clary sage· 3. A herb related to garden sage. Herbal and slightly sweet, with a warm touch of tea and hay.
- . Dried meadow grass. Warm and sweetish, with hints of honey and tobacco, like a barn at the end of summer.
