About the scent
Opens with crushed basil and sparkling pepper, then settles into dry, spicy wood. The backbone is akigalawood (a peppery wood note made from patchouli) and earthy vetiver root. Fresh and not sweet at all: for the office and daytime from spring to autumn. It carries far, so a light hand is enough.
Notes
Notes are what you smell in the scent. The top ones come first, the heart follows, the base stays with you the longest. The number next to a note is how many fragrances in the catalogue have it.
Top notes. The first 15–30 minutes after you put it on: what you smell straight away.
- . Leaves of the aromatic herb. Green and peppery, with a sweet, slightly aniseed freshness.
- . Dried berries of a Nepalese shrub related to Sichuan pepper. Bright and zesty, with a clear grapefruit and passion fruit tone.
Heart notes. Opens up after about half an hour and stays for a few hours: the character of the scent.
- Vetiver· 7. The root of a tropical grass. Smells of damp earth, a little smoke and nuts.
- Woody notes· 7. A general woody accord rather than one tree: dry, warm and slightly smoky.
- Floral notes· 2. A bouquet of several flowers put together by the perfumer. Soft and fresh, without one flower taking the lead.
Base notes. Stays the longest, until the end of the day: what you later notice on your clothes and scarf.
- Akigalawood· 9. A material made from patchouli oil. Dry wood with a peppery, slightly spicy edge, without the earthiness of patchouli.
- Patchouli· 14. Leaves of a tropical plant. Dark and earthy, with a hint of chocolate.
- Ambrox· 11. A synthetic material inspired by ambergris. Mineral, slightly salty warmth, like skin after the sea.
