About the scent
Opens green and peppery: violet leaf, not the sweet powdery flower. Then toasted sesame and roasted barley make it warm and nutty, soft as velvet. For the cool months and cosy evenings; easy to share between partners. Sesame is an unusual note, so it is worth trying on skin first.
Notes
Notes are what you smell in the scent. The top ones come first, the heart follows, the base stays with you the longest. The number next to a note is how many fragrances in the catalogue have it.
Top notes. The first 15–30 minutes after you put it on: what you smell straight away.
- Pink pepper· 7. Dried berries of the Peruvian pepper tree, not a true pepper. A light spice: fresh, a little fruity and resinous, with a gentle tingle.
- Violet leaf· 2. The leaves of the violet, not its flowers. Green and watery, with a cucumber-like freshness and a touch of earth.
- Clary sage· 3. A herb related to garden sage. Herbal and slightly sweet, with a warm touch of tea and hay.
Heart notes. Opens up after about half an hour and stays for a few hours: the character of the scent.
- . Small toasted seeds of an oil plant. Nutty, warm and slightly oily, like sesame oil or halva.
- . A cereal grain, the base of malt. Toasty and soft, like warm bread crust and dry hay with a little malty sweetness.
Base notes. Stays the longest, until the end of the day: what you later notice on your clothes and scarf.
- Tonka bean· 21. Seed of a South American tree. Almond, hay and vanilla at once: a cosy, edible note.
- Benzoin· 13. A resin from trees of Southeast Asia. Warm vanilla with a hint of caramel.
- Vetiver· 7. The root of a tropical grass. Smells of damp earth, a little smoke and nuts.
