About the scent
Opens with sweet coffee and a hint of aniseed, then settles into cocoa and creamy vanilla with a wisp of smoke. A gourmand (a scent that smells edible) where jasmine and orange blossom only soften the sweetness. For autumn and winter, day or evening. On some skins chocolate takes over and pushes the coffee aside.
Notes

Top notes. The first 15–30 minutes after you put it on: what you smell straight away.
- Coffee· 6. Roasted coffee beans: a little bitter, warm and invigorating.
- . Seeds of the anise plant. Sweet, spicy and slightly cool, recalling liquorice and aniseed sweets.
Heart notes. Opens up after about half an hour and stays for a few hours: the character of the scent.
- Jasmine· 21. A white flower, sweet and a little animalic. It makes a scent warm and sensual.
- Orange blossom· 13. Flowers of the orange tree. Honeyed and clean, like fresh laundry and flowers at once.
- . An accord the perfumer built for Clive Christian. Sweet, creamy and warm, it recalls caramel and cream and keeps drawing you back for another sniff.
Base notes. Stays the longest, until the end of the day: what you later notice on your clothes and scarf.
- Cacao· 4. Cocoa beans and cocoa powder. Dry, slightly bitter chocolate, not sweet.
- Vanilla· 46. Pods of the vanilla orchid. Warm sweetness; in niche perfumes it comes with smoke and wood rather than smelling of cake.
- Caramel· 3. Sugar cooked until golden. Warm, buttery and sweet, with a slightly burnt edge.
- . An accord the perfumer builds from burnt woods, resins and birch tar. Dry and dark, like a bonfire or embers in a fireplace.
