About the scent
Opens with green bergamot and pink pepper, then turns to smoky tea and jasmine over resinous woods. A chypre (bright citrus on top, mossy woods underneath) that feels calm and a little moody rather than showy. For cool days, the office or a quiet evening. The smoke is noticeable, a bit like smoked lapsang tea.
Notes
Notes are what you smell in the scent. The top ones come first, the heart follows, the base stays with you the longest. The number next to a note is how many fragrances in the catalogue have it.
Top notes. The first 15–30 minutes after you put it on: what you smell straight away.
- Bergamot· 24. An Italian citrus. Lemon peel and Earl Grey tea: bright and a little bitter.
- Pepper· 8. Black or pink pepper. A dry, fresh spice that tickles the nose a little.
- Nutmeg· 3. Seed of the nutmeg tree. A warm, sweet spice with a woody touch.
Heart notes. Opens up after about half an hour and stays for a few hours: the character of the scent.
- Mate· 2. Leaves of a South American holly, brewed as a drink. Green and herbal, like dried grass and tea with a touch of smoke.
- Jasmine· 21. A white flower, sweet and a little animalic. It makes a scent warm and sensual.
- Guaiac wood· 3. Wood of a South American tree. Smoky and soft, with a hint of tar and vanilla.
Base notes. Stays the longest, until the end of the day: what you later notice on your clothes and scarf.
- Oakmoss· 7. A lichen that grows on oak trees. A damp forest, moss on bark after rain: bitter and earthy.
- Fir resin· 4. Resin of the fir tree. Smells of a conifer forest: balsamic and slightly sweet, like a Christmas tree.
- Amber· 12. Not a raw material but a warm blend of resins and vanilla. It is the soft, sweet warmth in a scent.
- Musk· 38. Synthetic molecules that smell of clean, warm skin. Like a jumper someone you love just wore.
- Woods· 4. Several woods together, such as cedar and sandalwood. Dry and warm.
