About the scent
Opens with juicy tangerine and heliotrope (a powdery flower with a hint of almond), then settles into milky vanilla and tropical fruit. Soft, sweet and very girly, like a pink milkshake. For daytime, dates and cool weather; in the heat, fewer sprays work better.
Notes
Notes are what you smell in the scent. The top ones come first, the heart follows, the base stays with you the longest. The number next to a note is how many fragrances in the catalogue have it.
Top notes. The first 15–30 minutes after you put it on: what you smell straight away.
- Mandarin· 9. A sweet citrus. Juicy and sunny, softer than lemon or orange.
- Heliotrope· 6. Small purple flowers whose scent perfumers recreate. Powdery almond and vanilla, like marzipan or cherry pie.
- . Orchid flowers yield no oil, so the perfumer recreates them as an accord. Creamy, softly sweet flowers, often with a touch of vanilla.
Heart notes. Opens up after about half an hour and stays for a few hours: the character of the scent.
- . A blend of tropical fruits such as mango, pineapple and passion fruit. Juicy and sunny, sweet with a little sourness.
- . An accord the perfumer builds to recall desserts. Caramel, vanilla and sweet pastry: a cosy, edible sweetness.
Base notes. Stays the longest, until the end of the day: what you later notice on your clothes and scarf.
- Vanilla· 46. Pods of the vanilla orchid. Warm sweetness; in niche perfumes it comes with smoke and wood rather than smelling of cake.
- Sandalwood· 17. Wood of the sandalwood tree. Soft and creamy, warm like skin after the sun.
- Musk· 38. Synthetic molecules that smell of clean, warm skin. Like a jumper someone you love just wore.
