About the scent
Opens fizzy with grapefruit, blackcurrant and pink champagne, then settles into raspberry, rose and creamy vanilla. Heliotrope (a flower that smells of almond and face powder) makes it airy, like a ballet tutu. For spring and summer days, brunches and dates. A light hand works better: the sweetness builds over time.
Notes
Notes are what you smell in the scent. The top ones come first, the heart follows, the base stays with you the longest. The number next to a note is how many fragrances in the catalogue have it.
Top notes. The first 15–30 minutes after you put it on: what you smell straight away.
- Grapefruit· 2. Juicy and bitter, like a freshly peeled grapefruit. Wakes you up and fades quickly.
- Blackcurrant· 10. Blackcurrant berries and leaves. Juicy and tart, with the green of a crushed leaf.
- Coconut· 4. Coconut flesh and milk: creamy, sweet and sunny, like a holiday by the sea.
- . An accord built by the perfumer to recall sparkling wine. Fizzy and fresh, with a hint of grape and toasted bread.
Heart notes. Opens up after about half an hour and stays for a few hours: the character of the scent.
- Jasmine· 21. A white flower, sweet and a little animalic. It makes a scent warm and sensual.
- Rose· 14. One of the main flowers of perfumery. It can smell of fresh petals with dew or of thick rose jam.
- Heliotrope· 6. Small purple flowers whose scent perfumers recreate. Powdery almond and vanilla, like marzipan or cherry pie.
- . An accord of iris, violet and soft musks put together by the perfumer. Dry and velvety, like face powder or lipstick.
Base notes. Stays the longest, until the end of the day: what you later notice on your clothes and scarf.
- Raspberry· 3. Ripe raspberry: sweet, juicy and a little tart, close to fresh jam.
- Vanilla· 46. Pods of the vanilla orchid. Warm sweetness; in niche perfumes it comes with smoke and wood rather than smelling of cake.
- Amber· 12. Not a raw material but a warm blend of resins and vanilla. It is the soft, sweet warmth in a scent.
- Musk· 38. Synthetic molecules that smell of clean, warm skin. Like a jumper someone you love just wore.
