About the scent
Opens with sweet star anise (a spice that smells of liquorice) and church incense. Then it settles into salty minerals and ambergris (a warm note like skin after the sea). Less smoke than the name promises. For autumn and winter evenings, but worth trying on skin first: the salty finish is not for everyone.
Notes

Top notes. The first 15–30 minutes after you put it on: what you smell straight away.
- . Star-shaped fruit of an evergreen tree from China. Sweet and spicy, with a clear liquorice tone.
- Incense· 10. Resin of the frankincense tree. Smoky and cool, with a lemony spark, like in a church.
Heart notes. Opens up after about half an hour and stays for a few hours: the character of the scent.
- Mineral notes· 3. The smell of stone, wet pebbles and clean air. Cool and dry, with no sweetness.
- Woods· 4. Several woods together, such as cedar and sandalwood. Dry and warm.
- Ambergris· 6. A rare substance washed up by the sea; perfumes today almost always use a synthetic copy. Salty and warm, like skin after a swim in the sea.
Base notes. Stays the longest, until the end of the day: what you later notice on your clothes and scarf.
- Patchouli· 14. Leaves of a tropical plant. Dark and earthy, with a hint of chocolate.
- Fir resin· 4. Resin of the fir tree. Smells of a conifer forest: balsamic and slightly sweet, like a Christmas tree.
